The 2015 vintage was one of our earliest, bookended by cold, wet weather in the spring that impacted fruit-set and by a warm, dry ripening season in the fall. Crop size was smaller overall, but quality was excellent. We had very small berries and loose clusters that led to
even ripening and intensely concentrated flavors. There was a great skin to juice ratio that favored high-quality tannin extraction and concentration. The wines from 2015 show a good balance between freshness and power.
About our Cabernet Sauvignon
Over 225 acres of the estate are planted to vine, representing 135 distinct hillside vineyard blocks with many soil types, exposures and microclimates. Originally four individual 19th century Napa Valley vineyards, Miravalle, Alba, Chevalier and La Perla are now one vineyard
producing exclusively estate grown wines. A substantial portion of the vineyard is planted in densities of over 4,000 vines per acre. Growing primarily Bordeaux grape varieties, the vineyard yields distinctive mountain wines that consistently display concentration, elegance and longevity and our Cabernet Sauvignon is no exception.
About Spring Mountain Vineyard
Spring Mountain Vineyard is an 845-acre estate on the eastern slopes of Spring Mountain in Napa Valley
where austere soils produce extremely low yields of intensely flavored, long-lived wines. Only 225 acres
are planted to vine, representing 135 discrete vineyard blocks with multiple soil types, exposures and
microclimates. The privately owned estate is comprised of four historic vineyards first planted to vine in
the late 1800s. Only estate bottled wines are produced.
